Apply safe vs. bold criteria?

Match is even, no blots in either homeboard, same number of checkers back -> neither safe nor bold Behind in race -> bold Fewer homeboard points -> safe

So, there doesn't seem to be a solid consensus of safe or bold, although by evening out the number of homeboard points, we erase a reason to play safe.

I'd make the 5 point here because that's what I do when I'm in doubt. 8/5 6/5
