Apply safe vs. bold criteria?

Magriel's criteria conflict here. Behind in the race = bold, no anchor = safe, opponent has no anchor = bold, board strength...well, after making the bold play 8/5 6/5 you'll have the stronger board, but you have the weaker board at the moment.

I normally like bold plays but here, breaking the 8pt and giving White a direct 6 to hit and possibly pick up another blot while we're struggling to enter against her three-point board seems too much. I'd consolidate with 24/23 11/8. It's often right to make the 5pt, though, so I'm not at all confident about this play.
