I was white and took, and was surprised that rollouts on XG1 made it a pass, whereas it was only a bare double for money. I plugged it in to my chart and made the take point for the gammon rate in question (about 60% for blue) around 36%, and rollouts had me winning 39%. The key, in my opinion, is that I can cash when I reach about 67% wins, and will have gammon-killing redoubles in any case. Whenever I am winning 43% of games I can take and redouble immediately, so I felt sure that this was a take. I upgraded to XG2, and rollouts confirmed my original view. I think XG1 was not taking correct score and gammon dependent action in rollouts.
This was from the Thursday night tournament at the Tollgate pub in Turnpike Lane, North London. Very strong £5 knockout tournament with 100% return, so don't turn up if you want positive equity. Do come if you want a good cheap game!
