From my experience choosing plays that will make your opponent get steamed do work, but not in all cases. I believe that there are some prerequisits like the following:

1) Play against one opponent (as Stick mentioned)

2) Not overdo it with big loss of equity

3) Don't do it at the beggining of the game, as you might make, to a big extent, his moves "forced". You need to let him make mistakes and not tranform the game to a roullette. Your example in you previous post looks good to me.

4) You follow up play(s) should complicate the game as much as possible (e.g. next game opening 41 should be played as 41$ etc).

5) Respond to all his comments as necessary :-)
