Gammon Save Play 52

Isn't an anchor the best insurance against a gammon, though? And against a double, too? (I'm not saying it is, I just am not sure).

Also, if we both build our boards, aren't I at a disadvantage, even if I build mine first? Because white doesn't have any men back who can get trapped. But I do. So I would think that even if I build my board first, I am more likely to break it first as well. Then I'm screwed.

I'm not saying I'm right. I'd like to know your thoughts on this and am open to your counter-argument.
