Blue is Player 1XGID=-BaBBBBA--A--c---dCdab----:1:-1:1:42:2:6:0:17:10 Blue to play 42 Over the board, I would have played something straightforward, such as J = Jump (10/6 7/5). I would have thought, “No blots and a racing can’t be too bad. If White does’t escape first, I’m hitting loose if I can.”
When posed as a problem, I am tempted to try something wacky like S = Split (18/12). It leaves only 15 shots, and when missed, gives good odds to cover the bar point. When White hits, he may not be able to cover his blot the 20pt, and when White jumps out without hitting, Blue will have good outfield coverage.
C = Cross (18/14 7/5) also gives Blue outfield coverage, and superficially appears to be safer. In actuality, it gives White 16 hitting numbers, and does not allow Blue to leave his slot on the bar point.
