Which 5p will you make

White is in a running game (he has cleared one back man to safety). Blue is not in a running game. Blue must therefore *defend* against white's game. This means blue must absolutely stay split in the back. That is one of Magriel's golden rules: When your opponent clears one or more back men, then split or stay split. There are two reasons for this:
White's game plan is to play somewhat safe (avoid hitting and contact and avoid leaving direct shots). White must also make safe landing points for the checkers on white's midpoint to land on in white's outerboard. So that is one reason to split. When you are split, then you double your threat to the outer board to "defend" it. The second reason you stay split is that if you anchor, then white (in a running game) will play all of their "awkward" rolls *behind* your anchor. Your anchoring would greatly help your opponent when they roll bad rolls.
The blots on 20 and 18 are safe because white cannot afford to get hit and you would have return shots and possibly destroy white's running plan.
So make your own five point.
