Blue's timing is very sensitive. I started counting how much white and blue can move before they give up their assets. White can move 35 pips whitout breaking his prime and blue can move 31 pips after a safe play i.e. bar/22 7/6. After blue moves those 31 pips, he would have a 5 point homeboard from points 1-5. So things are pretty bad, most likely blue will crush after a safe play. Then his game winning chances will suffer a major blow. After bar/24 6*/3, white might be forced to hit 1or 2 blue checkers in the next rolls. Those extra pips that blue will gain could,prove very valuable. Things would be even more clear if blue had even less timing, but for me 6/*3 increases enough the chances for a not crushed 1-3 backgame.
