22/14(2) is tempting, but leaves 7 checkers inflexible lumped together, and only 2 spares to make new points. It is not so easy to improve on that positionally, because there is little flexibility. Of course, gaining a race lead and partially disengaging is good for winning the game, so it is the DMP play, but as it leaves us weak upfront with only 8 in the zone, at the expense of net gammons.
13/5(2) makes a very good point, leaving us with a better prime, better board, and better anchor, a clear positional edge that is difficult to counter. It looks good with gammons counting.
