I will give your answer just in case of 11-10 and Crawford rule (other wise my post would be very long ! :) ). In these cases I always consider "If I play like this ....what would be the situation for my opponent on his\her next roll?"If you do not play 23/22(2) what would happen on the next roll for him? He would leave direct shots with 65 and 64. An indirect shot with 62..so isn't it valuable enough? I think it is(This is exactly what you are waiting for)...and of course, as you said this game is gammon safe for you ..but with your anchor on 23,its value would not be so much (I guess around 3%). If you play 23/22 you will give excellent 6s for his next roll and no direct shot...so I will play 6/3 8/7.
