White will release the anchor soon. Blue could take advantage of it if he has a good board. After 8/6 8/2 blue will usually have many rolls before he is forced to move a checker from the 10 point. This makes the risk quite small. Notice that all numbers play inside and also the big numbers of spares that blue has to play. Also note that this play avoids loading the 1 point at the moment and so the chances that blue will bury checkers there is smaller. 8/6 8/2 should result into a better board and better racing position. Except 63 for blue's next turn, consider also 53 and 54. If the risk after 8/6 8/2 was bigger then things could be different.
