Yes gammons are more valuable at this score than at a normal match score but that really isn't why this play is correct. It's flat out the right play at any score I'm guessing. (compared to 4/1) I think in short it's really about depriving your opponent of grabbing a second anchor so easily and having two men in the air v. one while also pushing any anchor possibilities for your opp. further into your home board.

While you would rather not be hit back at all after double hitting (16 rolls) if you're hit with an ace your mission is still somewhat accomplished as you enter and cover with so many numbers giving you a crushing position.
