I'm the other way, I play on vs weaker players, and cube immediately versus perceived strong players.

Same goes for slot option on the free drop plays. Versus stronger players, I dont slot, and take the impending cube, vs weaker players I do slot, and probably take the impending cube - as someone said when they miss you gain a bunch, and if they hit, I want a more complex game vs the weaker player.

I too am surprised by the number of people that dont cube immediately at -2,-2 (unless of course they use my -2 cube philosophy, and perceive me as the weaker player), especially in open tournaments. Its almost as bad as 4 passes in bridge tournaments.

Oh, and without doubt, always double at -2,-1 post crawford. There is nothing to be gained by waiting to see 'if I can score a gammon'. Pointless.

I am somewhat curious about the subject: How is this relevant for Stick? May I suggest you forget how to use the cube Stick? Hows that for a suggestion in yer box?
