New U.S. Rules ratified

Lord...
Question #1: If a player objects to me taking pictures of positions, what's the ruling? He always objects to me writing down the positions. He says "Just play the game". The first picture I took was a cube in the second game so it wasn't as if I was abusing this 'priveledge', it was at this time, the first photo op, that he spoke up.
Director's discretion. There is no specific rule allowing or barring the recording of positions. The consensus has been that inobtrusive recording of positions is allowed. However, prohibiting flash cameras and standing on chairs is sensible. It certainly also makes sense to ask your opponent's permission to take photos. Personally, the one time I had an opponent object to recording positions, I complied with his request. There is no complelling 'need' to record your positions if your opponent objects.
Question #2: If a monitor is assigned, what are his duties?
It's up to the director. He decides why he is assigning the monitor and gives the monitor the duties he deems appropriate. Of course, the players can find out from the director what those specific duties are.
Question #3: 3.2 - Prior to the start ("commencement", quit trying to be official lol) of a match, the backgammon board, direction of play, checker color, and seat location may be decided by rolls of the dice.
Does this mean we roll for boards, I lose. We roll for direction, I lose. We roll for checker color, I lose. We roll for seat location, I lose!? Or does it somehow mean we roll for boards and whoever wins picks the board to be played on then I, the losing player, have next choice?
Observe the use of the word 'rolls' in the rule. If the players require it, they can roll separately to decide each of these equipment/setup issues.
4.3 - A player shall move the checkers in an unambiguous manner, using only one hand. I wish more people would do this, I don't know why I find it annoying when ppl use both hands but I do.
'One hand' has always been part of the rule.
4.5 - A player may reposition his dice ... For everyone out there I suggest doing this at the beginning of your turn before you've even moved a checker. I often do this when I see my checkers may move where the dice are, instead of moving the checker and then kicking the die out of the way, I move the dice to the center of the board before moving.
Agreed. If done before any checkers are moved, the opponent should not be confused that you are picking up your dice to end your turn. However, if you are sliding the dice around at the end of your turn and 'induce' a premature roll, you are NOT going to be given an opportunity to change your play based on seeing that premature roll, unless you gave notice that you were repositioning the dice. On that subject, I find it hard to justify the 'need' to reposition the dice after you've made a complete checker, play, anyway.
4.7 - Error in Setup - correct prior to fifth roll. So 4 moves in we notice we had a bad starting position, how do we 'correct' it?
Put the mis-placed checker back where it should have been. In 99% of such situations, it will be obvious where the mispositioned checker belongs. In the other 1%, call the director. (Almost all setup errors have to do with one checker extra or missing from the midpoint, 8-point or 6-point. After 4 rolls, it is almost always trivial to put the misplaced checker back where it should have been.)
Question #4: 5.6 - Dead Cube - it should be clarified that a person may not recube when he owns the cube and the value of the cube would put him out (make him the winner of the match) but not his opponent.
This rule does NOT address that situation; reread the rule and you'll see this is clear. It only addresses the dead cube in effective DMP situations. If I am 2-away and my opponent is 4-away and I hold a 2-cube, my redouble can be accepted and is not invalid.
