I totally agree that money is the main issue.

The issue of adjusting for your opponent, as well as Phil's issue of making the same errors that XG makes, could be dealt with by focusing specifically on PR tournaments. I believe that someone who is sufficiently motivated could even learn exactly how XG botches tasks such as (not) rolling a prime around the board, and keep a low PR even in such games by mimicking XG's horrendous blunders to a T.
