Interesting. My first thought is I don't like making the 2pt with four checkers back. I want assets, but I have limited material to work with, so I need to be selective. Going deep this early, when White can so easily make an anchor in front of the point, is too big a concession.
21/11 pops out at me. We don't need a double anchor, and this puts a checker in position to make good points next turn. It leaves -- 62, 44, 22, 63, 54, 33, 64 -- 11 indirect shots (or better), plus other 2s and 4s to attack on the 21pt.
20/16 20/14 forces White to give up his midpoint to hit (except for 65). That's a huge concession, giving up outfield control with three checkers back. It leaves -- all 2s and 4s, plus 31 and 65 -- 24 shots, plus it leaves us with the inferior anchor behind White's mini-prime. I think that's too much down side for what it gets us. If the roll were 65, I'd be more inclined to make this kind of play with 21/16 21/15.
21/11 for me.
