I can see someone getting close to 2.0 in money play since they don't have to worry about score based cube and checker play considerations. Nor do they have to worry so much about skill considerations unless playing a true idiot or someone that they are sure doesn't understand a certain type of position.

A player can usually decide when to play for money when he wants to and can stop within a reasonable time if tired or feeling otherwise distracted. However, players have to play tournament matches when scheduled and there's lots of matches to be played over the course of a typical weekend and since most of us are only human, we may be playing some of these when tired, or sick, or distracted by other things or simply having a bad day or a combination of all 4 things that can ruin a great PR.

Another factor in matches is that we are usually playing them to win rather than playing for the best possible PR. Lets say this decision comes up. Of course, I know to cube and put the match on the single game if I am playing you, or MCG, or Mochy, or Stick, but what if I am playing the average guy that plays at 3 PR (100 Elo) worse than I do? Am I really supposed to double a guy 100 worse than me here? I doubt it and this cube error (from XG PR standpoint) is likely to continue for several more turns as there is still likely to be this type of contact and pip differential.
