I think Blue is going to be holding a 2-cube either way. That makes the slot more attractive, since if things go poorly he's still in the game until the end.

I'd slot at dmp, so that argues for slotting as well.

Also, looking ahead, Blue is going to have a tough time with 5s and 6s, having to play them to his lower inner board. A made 5pt would take a lot of the sting out of having to do that.

Finally, the most comfortable safe and slotting plays look like b/22 6/4 and b/23 8/5, respectively, since they leave a better distribution up front. The slotting play has the bonus of creating good 5s on the other side of the board.

I'd slot, with b/23 8/5.
