What do you people mean by "playing under 2.0"?

I suppose there's consensus that we're talking AVERAGE PR? Not just the MEDIAN PR (half the matches)?

But are there consensus if this is money play or match play. If it's 5 pointers or 17 pointers? And if it is online (with or without pipcounts) or live? And finally, if we're talking clocked matches or not?

There's a hell of a difference depending on the answers here.

NKaz, Stick, and others have already touched those subjects.

I have to agree 100% with Falafel and MCG, playing under 2.0 (as I understand it*) is a feat that no-one is really close to yet. Unless of course, there are players out there I just haven't really seen play enough, who are leagues above the best of what I've experienced.

I've analyzed matches for DBgF master titles (players seeking to achieve a so called "bot norm") for the last 18 months now. Not a single time has a player submitted a sub 2.0 match. The best performance so far in those matches, have been 2.08 (Played by Marc B Olsen, who was running very hot in the 2nd half of 2012 and has posted matches at 2.08, 2.67, 2.69, 2.80, 2.85 and 2.92. These matches represent his best so obvious he has played matches that draw the average even further away from 2.0. (I've also seen him play a 4.37 and a 5.59 vs. a high rated player).

I doubt that there are any players in the world right now, who can truly wipe the floor with Marc in long (17 pts) live clocked matches. He's a huge way from averaging 2.0 - so my hut feeling is that such a player don't exist currently.

Cheers,
Henrik

* Live 17 point clocked tournament matches, with something at stake! Analyzed at one pass XGR++ gigantic, no rollouts, all errors count.

PS: It carry some weight when the four players on this forum, who must be considered the closest ones to average 2.0 ALL says no can do!
