How important is it to pick up that second checker? I'd go after it, meaning I don't want P2 to safety it with any 1. The only way I see to hinder that is to play 6/5*. Then, instead of getting to safety with all 1s, only 11, 51, and 61 work for him.
After 6/5*, I have pretty good outfield coverage, so I'm mostly concerned about how his 55 and 66 play. His 66 doesn't play badly for me. He enters with a hit and comes around and gets stopped on his bar point, leaving many return shots at his 2 blots. I don't see anything I can do with a 4 to improve on that. On his 55, he enters with a hit, then comes around and hits again on his 5pt. With 2 on the bar, I hit back with all 3s and 5s, plus 44 -- 21 shots. I can improve on that by getting off of his 5pt with 20/16. This way I'm only hit once and can hit back with all 3s and 5s, plus 12, 14, 24, 26, 44, 46 -- 31 shots. 20/16 also improves my coverage in the outfield, so it's a win/win.
