Literally the point should be remvoed from the board andplaced on the bar. I guess that we don't do that falls under the commonsense idea.

I'll tell you what, Bob. Bring your board on Sunday and I'll bring my Leatherman, and we'll play on your board and interpret that rule literally.

How delicious to be chided for a lack of common sense by someone who was probably voted in his high school yearbook as "Most likely to fight to the death for his right to insist that someone on roll with a single checker on their ace point and a single checker on their deuce point is not in a gin position because they might play their 61 as 2/1, 1/off instead of 2/off, 1/off."
