That might give you some idea of how incredible such a ruling is. The fact that others have ruled that way in the past only makes it more incredible to me. I don't think I've heard anything remotely resembling such a ruling in any board game I've ever played, and I've read of some pretty crazy things (in chess especially).

I think you're taking yourself too seriously here. If your ego weren't at stake I think you'd see that this is one of the most hilarious rulings of all time.
