White is XG Roller++
score: 0
pip: 1075 point match pip: 117
score: 3
Blue is BGO ReadersXGID=--B-CBCA-b--bB----bdB-bba-:0:0:1:21:3:0:0:5:10 Blue to play 21 XG has at least 4, and perhaps as many as 6, checkers on its 6pt and 7pt that it can move before being forced to play off either of its rear points. We don’t have quite as much. We need to save a 6, so that means playing this 21 inside.
- 6/3 — Attempts to make points in order, but leaves a fragile structure. Holding the 6pt may be difficult.
After playing 6/3
- 4/1 — Gives up on making the 3pt for now. Making the 1pt should be easy. Spares on the 6pt and 7pt give us flexibility for a turn at least. After that, the 6pt may have to go.
After playing 4/1
- 5/3 4/3 — Solves the problem of the 3pt by simply making it. Spares on the 5pt, 6pt and 7pt buy us some time. The 5pt might be remade later, but if not, when the 6pt goes, we may wish we had held onto the 5pt.
After making the 3pt
I like the look of 4/1, but it won’t surprise me if making the 3pt is slightly better. 4/1
