Another anchor-breaking decision

It seems like blue has three options:
1) hit the blot
2) run into the outfield from one of the anchors
3) cover the deuce and hope to contain the runner
Hitting seems anti-positional - blue's timing is not all that great (although as long as he can contain white's runner it's pretty good) so giving up more by hitting seems wrong.
Running does the best job of preserving blue's timing, but I think covering the deuce is a better use of the six. Then it's a choice between a quiet 7/6 or a more provocative 24/23. 24/23 forces white to hit with a 5 or 6, numbers that are killed if blue holds the ace point. But a lot of those forced hits also cover and that looks like a ticket to gammon city.
8/2 7/6 gives white a few awkward rolls, but not as many as one might think. I still like it better than inviting white to point on the head and make a 5 point board.
8/2 7/6.
