How many pro BG players?

During the best "online years" (first gamesgrid, then true money games, then gammonempire/play65 and partygammon + some more obscure sites) there were several players who made quite a bit of money playing backgammon online. I noticed many nicks playing for significant stakes (50-500$ per game) on a regular basis against a field of relatively weak opposition and imagine the most succusful of those managed to win more than a hundred thousand dollars before the party was over.
