I remember that board of Michael Edge 5-8 years ago. The playing field was natural suede - my first natural suede board. As I explained in www.gammoncity.com/SurfaceGA.htm different surfaces have different purpose: wood is eternal. Cork is less noisy than wood. Wool is silent, leather is durable, gum is reflective and slideable and cleanable. Let me now add, natural suede may be silent as wool or "slow" - difficult to slide. And there are many tastes too. One way to satisfy new tastes is to change playing fields. Svilo boards are easy to change fields. The price is EUR 25 for the Golden anchor boards. The problem is sending - it would take another EUR 25 to the USA. If your friend orders a Svilo board, I can add a spare playing field for it's price only.

If you paid USD 300 for a Golden anchor board it should be leather exterior. Leather products live longer than their owners. The leather coat of my grandfather from the WW1 lasted till 2002 when my father died. My leather silver anchor board is from 1992.
