Oh, by the way, there are close to 1000 participants at this event.

This appears to be the main challenge in this vision. Catering to a market is easy enough if you have the market in place. To get 1000 appearances at a tournament you need how many bodies in the local catchment area who are playing backgammon? ... and how far short are we? Then, how do the numbers get driven up?
