White is Player 2

score: 4
pip: 128
7 point match
pip: 154
score: 5

Blue is Player 1
XGID=----BaBBCB---Ac--cceB----A:0:0:1:51:5:4:0:7:10
Blue to play 51

The main problem here is not how to hit a second checker. It is how best to contain the checker that is already back.

Keeping the guard on the midpoint gives good outfield control. If White does not hit it, then almost any escaping roll White gets will leave a direct shot.

Blue is planning to attack next turn. In case he is hit in the ensuing fight, he needs to position a checker for escape now. If the worst happens, and White does get away, then Blue still has some holding game equity and a bit of race equity as well.

B (Both) = bar/20, 8/7

Mike
