White is Player 2

score: 0
pip: 120
7 point match
pip: 90
score: 0

Blue is Player 1
XGID=---BABC-CA--aB---bbccbbA--:1:1:-1:11:0:0:0:7:10
Blue to play 11

My first instinct is to hit loose, which is probably not too bad a play. The best loose hit might be 5/2*/1, duping 2s. Blue could get into trouble, however, is he is hit, and then does not hit back immediately, so I rejected the loose hit.

A hit of some kind seems necessary, however, just for tempo, if for no other reason. So that leaves 3/2*(2) as the best way to hit. After that, my initial idea was to slide the spare forward, by moving 6/4. I wonder, however, whether 2/1(2) might not be better. The 2pt and the 8pt cannot be part of the same prime, and by switching to the 1pt, the checkers on the 8pt suddenly become builders that are within direct range of both open points in Blue’s board.
