I read this earlier but have been unable to understand your point.

Suppose Bot A says "close pass" and Bot B says "close take." We pit the bots against each other. Does this procedure really give us a "more definitive solution"? What if Bot A wins regardless of which side of the prop it takes? The likely conclusion is that Bot A is stronger than Bot B, but do the prop results tell us something "more definitive" about the position itself than a Bot A rollout would? It doesn't seem like it to me.
