I don't have any magic insight into the effect of your posts either, but I think that the option you mentioned, of waiting for other replies before adding your two cents, should solve any potential problems. I think that everyone likes to read what you or neilkaz or other top players have to say (as long as it's not just some trivial comment like "next" or a statement of what your play is without any serious attempt at explanation). So this would be my ranking of your actions, from best to worst:

1. Waiting a bit and then posting a meaningful analysis.

2. Posting a meaningful analysis right away.

3. Posting an excessively terse response that doesn't add much insight.

4. Not posting at all.

Option 3 is only marginally better than Option 4, but Option 2 is much better than either one, so if you know you're not going to get around to Option 1 if you wait then it's better to post right away. In particular, I think what you did for this particular position was fine (Option 2).
