handshake

This isn't a 'policy', it's just what I do. Calling it a policy makes it sound like I think about it and decide to do it or not do it. I play on DG, I play on GG, I play on SHG, I have played other places like FIBS or TMG in the past. I wonder if we could calculate how much time I would have spent typing "Hello, good match' and "GM, thanks" or something similar if I would have done this for every match. Not to mention the early onset of arthritis I'm sure to already have from posts like this.
It seems superfluous. Not exactly like but made me think of when someone here wanted to be thanked for replying to a post. Sure, every now and again if there's some extra effort maybe a 'Thanks!' is in order but for the most part I see it as a big waste of time. We're all here and appreciate help when we get it, no need to state the obvious. Like when I accept to play a backgammon match. Of course I'm hoping for a good match and I'm happy to find someone to play against.
