I don't know that I understand it either, but I'll give it a shot.
White only has 50 pips of timing and her backgame is about to bust. this is a situation where an "early blot" play may be correct. Let's review the options;
13/4 - this seems to be the obvious playbut i don't know that it really addresses the main feature of the position, which is white's timing (or lack thereof)
10/4 10/7 - this clears a point that may become tricky to clear later. Yes, it leaves 8s and 10s to hit, but does white want to hit yet? 55 and 44 are great rolls, but the other hitting numbers are no great shakes for white since she'll have two blots in her homeboard to shoot at. Then again, maybe that's good for her timing... And on the gripping hand, what good is timing if you've abandoned one of your anchors
7/1 7/4 - also clearing a point, but one that should be easier to clear. making the ace is probably good, but i'm not sure about that, and it still leaves the 44 and 55 jokers.
10/1 or 10/4 7/4 - As i said above, an early blot play may be the right idea here. if it is, can someone explain to me why?
I'll clear the 10. Spares on the 7 and 4 looks flexible and the blot on the 13 is relatively safe.
10/4 10/7
