FROM MY LIMITED EXPERIENCE, the situations where you leave early blots are quite different. First of all, the blot here is not really that early, white is 1 step before a nice board. Also note that 10/1 or 10/4 7/4 leave 2 blots. You do not leave 2 early blots. This is quite different from leaving 1 early blot. Also the early blotting is usually found in deeper backgames. I think it is quite rare in games where the opponent can extricate all his checkers out easily. Another reason that the early blot is not right here, is that the defender can hit from the higher anchor with a low cost. he does not lose a lot by breaking the 20 pt here.
