Even in the opening, some times it is better to make the 6 and 4 with the slotted 5 than the 6 and 5. I think, avoiding the direct shot commits to the blitz as a main winning plan, whereas the QF play holds the doors open for blitzing and priming. Even being hit isn't the end of the world. And if black draws not a hit, there will be perhaps a working raise on the turn.
