If you haven't seen a BG with more than one checker on the bar you haven't played enough BG, IMHO.

From a recent Last Chance match. My poor opp still had one on the bar when I had all 15 off !!

Also it was fun to lose in the money round of a major Chicago ABT T a decade ago to Yamin Yamin who hit, at DMP, my last checker with his 6 pt open and no way to close it as he had 14 checkers on his lowest 5 points.

The score (after 0 games) is: gnubg 0, user 0 (match to 5 points)
