There was also the (I think earlier) position where he duped and left only a 63 from the bar, that Fabio got, soon picking up the other chequer as well. He would very likely have coasted home to victory if not hit.

I watched the Sunday coverage and enjoyed it, though I was disappointed that Raj didn't quite manage to pull off the feat of winning both of the events, after being so far ahead. Backgammon IS the cruelest game, and it was a tough way for him to lose but - even if I was as good as Raj - I'd still settle for the results he got in his 12 matches!
