I just read Mochy's sideshow on priming vs blitzing. I really liked the "play to position" slide. It is nothing new of course, but I like the importance that Mochy gives to it. Blue certainly has a priming position here. White has a mess at the moment, but let's try and see what white would have if things go well for him/her. If blue plays 24/14 and white hits, then blue will probably enter high and white will have to rehit and rehit and play a blitz. Blue's board is strong and white's 2 back checkers would be very bad connected with the rest. All these do not sound really good for white.

If blue plays the aggressive 13/7 13/9 and white rolls a 62, then blue's priming plan will not look great and white will be ahead in the race and play a "running game" in which he will have very good chances, if he escapes the last checker. All these do not sound that bad. Another consideration against the priming theme is that blue is ahead in the race. If white does not roll the 6 then he can play a priming battle which will not be hopeless as he will at least have a better timing. I now actually observe that white's position qualifies as a priming position and not as a mess according to Mochy's slideshow.
