Analysis: Race is about even. Blue has better board. Blue has broken 5-prime, White had 2-prime. Both have 1 check back, White’s on ace, Blue’s on 21. Blue has turned game around after accepting the cube. Game plan: escape our back guy while keeping White’s behind our prime; go for cubed gammon if dice cooperate.

Candidates: 13/8 21/10 – Build five prime; prepare to escape back checker; dup hitting 1s. But leaves shot on mid. 21/16 8/7 – start to escape back checker; leave only 1 blot; retain mid. 8/2 – only 1 blot; keep mid; add builder for POH on ace.

Final answer: I’ll make the 5-prime with 13/8 and go for the cubed gammon.
