Man, how to play doubles?!? With doubles, as you say, there are often interesting decisions and close calls and, in many cases, many choices. Someone should write a book on playing doubles.

In this case, I think there are basically two choices: make the 5 and 9 pts, or hit on the 20. We are behind in the race and have 3 checkers on the 1 point. We can "solve" both problems by hitting. 24/20* for me.
