Where are they now?

I've heard of Horan, Dwek, Tomchin (through poker), and Seidel (first through Rounders, but then backgammon). The others I have no idea about. But I have seen Sly, who apparently is not that bad at backgammon.

Why is anyone interested in backgammon at all these days? If it hadn't been for what could be termed a more or less random sequence of events, I wouldn't be playing. I might be playing poker, or finding some other way to occupy my time (anything but chess).

I don't know. The game certainly isn't lending itself to mass appeal, for a variety of reasons (gambling, few young players, etc.). Maybe that will change.
