I like both your plays, and I don't think 24/21 is really evil either, just a bit too cautious. Of course I'm drawn to making the 5 point for the LRC factor, but it gives him too many hit and covers I think. I'll go with 13/11, 6/5 because of all the reasonable plays, I think it gives the opponent the most ways to mess up. (I generally assume my opponent is closer to "ordinary" than "genius")

Whatever could you have meant by ...and raise a finger ? Oh I get it, you're drinking tea while you play, and raising a pinky?
