Don’t Split after Opponent Plays 44 or 55 Down
Reading posts from Stick and Nack a year or two ago, I learned how precarious a split can be after your opponent plays down with 44 or 55 on the second roll. He will have 10 checkers in the zone, and plenty of attacking chances. For that reason the back checkers stay put.On the front side, I would make a different play for each of these positions. With 62, there is a productive safe play, and for the other two, I am choosing the slot that I feel is most advantageous.
- 31P-44P-62O = 13/5
- 31P-44P-63$ = 13/4
- 31P-44P-64$ = 13/9, 13/7
