24/8 leaves White up by 25 pips and assures him a pretty strong cube if Blue doesn't roll an ace, 32, 54, or 65. Even in those cases White still has the better of it by a fair margin.
After 24/20 8/4*(2) 6/2, White is much worse off if Blue throws an immediate 5, but if he dances, then White's playing for a gammon. If Blue comes in with an ace other than 41 then White has a strong cube. There's nothing outside of 11 that gives Blue a really strong game, but any 5 can hurt a lot.
Unturned cube, Jacobyless decisions can be tough for me, so since I'm in doubt, I'll go with the play I'd make for money: 24/8. If it's wrong I don't think I will have sacrificed much, whereas with the other play, if it's wrong, I might be giving up a lot.
