I'd just hit here.

It is true that white still has two outside points to clear but his spares often makes his position play quite well, often he makes another point along the way to help him bring the men in. Plus, the sane way to not hit, 8/5 13/7, leaves 1 12-shot that can help white get more time to shuffle his checkers profitably. Lastly, the hit is obviously great when it works, yet it is not necessarily that bad when it fails, often blue get out in time to capitalize on any problems white has in clearing the outside points anyway.

So it is a little like eating your cake and having most of it, too.
