11*! our 9 pips and white's loss of 11 pips makes the race even, keeps our anchor while putting white on the bar. the only other 6 that looks even playable is 13/7 after which you leave a 2 shot to cover your 5 point, or play 13/10 neither of which appeals. timing wise, your not far enough behind to have 60 pips tied up in the golden point. trying to save gammon here is a losing prop, as if you get off gammon, you are still down -3,-1 crawford. white's isolated and gapped 11 & 9 points cramp his cube potential.
