Ok,
I couldn't agree with you more on your first point. Snowie likes the 12/6, 12/8 play by quite a bit (.091 evaluation), but, after playing it and having my opponent KILL me with his best roll of 61, I then started thinking along these lines:
Ok, moving to the 8, he can get me with two rolls. Staying on the 12, he can still get me with two rolls, but I have the added benefit of getting a shot at him if he mistakenly plays out with any of the other sixes (61, 62, 63, 64) and let me tell you, this is the kind of guy that plays rolls out like that...
Wrong line of thinking? Or does the concern of a better bear off overrule the chance that he'll play out instead of breaking his board???
