No offense taken, no offense intended.
And I agree that the benefit of the doubt of the luck vs. skill argument typically goes to the more established, better known, and generally better player(s).
I think it funny how we all differently interpret certain remarks and relate to them.
By my saying Bob was lucky in the instances of the two winning doublets with eight cubes to win matches from behind, in my mind, did not demean Bob's play in any way. I regarded it as fact. I would have said the same had I rolled them, you rolled them, Neil rolled them, Magriel rolled them, or whomever. And I suspect Bob, you, Neil, Magriel, or whomever would agree they were lucky. You apparently inferred a slight toward Bob.
Conversely, your statement "when a really good player (e.g. Neil) wins, do we ever talk about their lucky rolls?" implied, to me, that you didn't regard Bob as a really good player. I thought it could be taken as a much more demeaning statement than anything I said.
Again, it is interesting how we all react differently to statements. It's true here, in politics, and throughout life.
