He also wasn't "smart" at one thing, he was a mf genius at the time at that one thing.

Agreed. I wish I had wrote that one sentence a bit differently.

We must all realize that mental illness, psychology, sociology, and other "mind sciences" are very new fields of study. Freud is a founding father of these sciences and he only lived about 100 years ago. These "mind sciences" are in their infancy. Thus, I tend to look at the theories of "mind scientists" as the theories of scientific children. That does not mean their theories are wrong. It simply means much time and research is necessary to verify, modify, or refute their opinions.

In contrast, I studied mechanical and electrical science. One science has several thousand years of study. The other has three hundred years of study. Again, do not misinterpret my position. I am not saying that other science fields are better. However, other science fields have the benefit of many centuries of study and research which is missing in the “mind sciences”.

One of the defenses given by the Catholic Church in depositions is that pedophile priest were returned to active duty because they were treated by “mind scientists” and that the “mind scientists” claimed to have cured them. A large professional group whose name is similar to the American Psychiatrist Society officially stated that homosexuality was curable in the 1970’s. Please excuse that I do not remember this group’s official name. I could find it, but I am not writing a term paper.

Thus some “mind scientists” claim that poor Bobby Fisher was insane. Perhaps, he was. Or perhaps, he was just an evil asshole.
