3/2 simply has to be wrong.
I'd have played 5/4 without thinking about it at all, but QF must be 4/3. I have a hard time thinking why though. Sure, white is less likely to blot in the future by playing 4/3 now, but he is 100% to leave a blot now if he plays that way!!! Quite frankly I don't see any upside whatsoever to playing this way, and I am with Neil here and think that gnu needs a hug, the anti-drug, cause its neural net looks to have a bug. Did I just say that? Puke.
As far as how many checkers to hit, I think having a small number on the bar when you are trying to bear in is helpful here. You don't want blue to hit you at that point, nor do you want him improving his board to a 4-prime or 4 1/2 prime or worse. If you get hit now white blue has a lot of work to do to win it.
At the same time you don't want too many on the bar while you are trying to bear in. The reason being is that you don't one on the bar while you are bearing off, too many hits that way. That said, there aren't any extra hits for a long time with this many checkers on the bar either. Imagine you play 4/3 here for some reason, what does blue hit you with here? Only 5's. But if he had only one on the bar, then 64 and 41 also hit you in addition to 5's.
